 Sydney Philharmonia Choirs' has announced the return of their annual Easter Saturday concert, presenting one of Bach's enduring choral masterworks, the St John Passion, interspersed with contemporary reflections from two Australian composers.

Celebrated singer-songwriters Lucy Kaplansky, Richard Shindell, and Dar Williams, who together make up the acclaimed folk-pop collaboration Cry Cry Cry, have announced the digital release of Live @ the Freight, available now (here), recorded at the last show of their sold-out, 20-year reunion tour in 2018. The band's first full-length release in decades includes selections from their eponymous debut, favorites by each of the individual songsmiths, and some choice new-to-the-band tunes. The group made its mark uncovering hidden gems, bringing attention to fellow songwriters, and continued that process with these new arrangements of songs composed since 2000.

Seven weeks before the eagerly awaited release of The Psychedelic Furs new album, Made Of Rain, The Furs are making available the song 'You'll Be Mine.' This is the second new song to be lifted from their forthcoming album, alongside the breathlessly received 'Don't Believe,' which was made available in January. Australia's only Baroque opera company, the acclaimed Pinchgut Opera, announce their most ambitious program to date. The 2019 season will feature an expanded offering of two operas and two concerts, with performances in both Sydney and Melbourne, from a program of internationally celebrated artists. Pinchgut Opera rediscovers operatic masterpieces from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. In 2019 the company will stage four seasons: in April, Pinchgut performs a concert of Bach's Easter Oratorio together with Telemann's Thunder Ode; in June, Monteverdi's final opera The Return of Ulysses; in August, the multi-award-winning counter-tenor Valder Sabadus will perform in Australia for the first time for one night only; and in December Pinchgut will stage Vivaldi's favourite opera, Farnace.
