Penobscot Theatre Company and Maine Jewish Film Festival announce a special screening of one of the twenty films being presented at this year's MJFF, March 9-16. This special screening at the Bangor Opera House, Dorfman in Love, will take place on Sunday, March 17 at 7PM. The film is a romantic comedy Starring Sara Rue and Elliot Gould. This is a free event but a $5 donation is suggested. Penobscot Theatre Company Artistic Director, Bari Newport says, "I have been eager to bring The Maine Jewish Film Festival to Bangor, since arriving here last January. Thanks to support from Rabbi Justin Goldstein and Rabbi Darah Lerner, we are able to bring a small piece of this year's MJFF to Bangor. The great thing about this film, aside from the fact that screenwriter Wendy Kout is also a terrific playwright, is that it is certainly a film that can be enjoyed by people of all denominations - as long as they like to laugh." Dorfman in Love - comedy drama After her mother's death, 20-something Valley gal Deb Dorfman finds herself in the role of caretaker for her cantankerous father, while being the unrecognized brains of her brother's accounting firm and the object of her sister-in-law's relentless matchmaking efforts.
