Barrington Stage Company has announced full casting for the world premiere of Mark St. Germain's new play The Happiest Man on Earth (May 24-June 17) and a new production of the legendary Kander & Ebb musical Cabaret (June 14-July 8).

The new Charlotte Ballet production of PETER PAN, choreographed by Christopher Stuart, is the most inclusive and politically correct I've seen, retaining sets and costumes from previous editions while completely changing the music. Plenty of delightful surprises and only one SOS: it's a no-fly zone.

For the 124th Kritzerland show, it's a very personal tribute to the late and great Stephen Sondheim. Producer/host Bruce Kimmel knew Sondheim for over thirty years and produced a significant number of recordings of his work, beginning with the album Unsung Sondheim, which featured mostly never before recorded songs that Sondheim himself suggested.

For Peter Pan on her 70th Birthday, playing March 17 – April 16 at Open Book Theatre in Trenton, continues to play with this theme, bringing a group of 5 older siblings to Neverland to examine questions about life, death and what it means to grow up. 

The Obie Award-winning Metropolitan Playhouse, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, will present She’s Got Harlem on Her Mind, an evening of three short plays by influential Harlem Renaissance writer Eulalie Spence (1894–1981).

Performances will run from October 11- October 16 at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. “NCT is delighted to be producing this joyful romp of a musical. 

A beloved musical legend comes out of retirement to play an iconic theatre role, that she declared has always been on her bucket list, Ms Toni Tennille adds her name to a long an illustrious list of women (including Ether Merman, Mary Martin, Pearl Bailey, Ginger Rogers, Eve Arden, Phyllis Diller, Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler, Bernadette Peters and, of course, Carol Channing), who have been spreading the thrill of romance and the joy of living “before the parade passes by,” by portraying Dolly Levi in Jerry Herman's “Hello Dolly!” 

The album, which is currently available on CD and digital formats, boasts a 20-piece orchestra conducted by renowned jazz piano virtuoso Jon Weber (host of NPR’s “Piano Jazz”) and is produced by Bart Migal, with Ronald Thomas serving as executive producer. Musicals at Richter (MAR), Connecticut's longest-running outdoor theater, will celebrate its 38th season with the beloved Rodgers and Hammerstein musical THE SOUND OF MUSIC.

Tuesday June 28th, 2022, marks the 120th Anniversary of the birth of legendary Broadway composer Richard Rodgers, Rob Morrison's Musical Theatre Melodies will commemorate the occasion with the broadcast and streaming premiere of the Museum of the City of New York's A CELEBRATION OF RICHARD RODGERS, recorded live at The Imperial Theatre, New York City, on March 26th, 1972.

PS CLASSICS, the label dedicated to the heritage of Broadway and American Popular Song, has announced the release of the new album from award-winning nightclub and concert artist JEFF HARNAR – I Know Things Now: My Life in Sondheim’s Words on CD and digital formats.
