The Growing Stage, The Children's Theatre of New Jersey, located in the Historic Palace Theater on Route 183 in Netcong, New Jersey is set to present the New Jersey Premiere of DIARY OF A WORM, A SPIDER AND A FLY from April 27th to May 20th with performances Saturday and Sunday matinees at 4:00PM and a special opening night performance on Friday, April 27th at 7:30PM. Book, music and lyrics by Joan Cushing and based on the books by Doreen Cronin and illustrations byHarry Bliss. DIARY OF A WORM, A SPIDER AND A FLY is directed by TGS Director of Educational Programming Lori Lawrence with choreography by Jillian Petrie and musical direction by Laura Petrie.

Is Spider getting too big for his own skin? Will Fly find her superhero powers in time to save her Aunt Rita from peril? Will Worm learn to stand on his own two feet...even though he doesn‘t have feet? The show asks the audience to take a look at the world from a bug‘s perspective.

DIARY OF A WORM, A SPIDER AND A FLY features the talents of 6 professional performers in the cast. The performers are Brandon Lavon Hightower of Jersey City as Worm, J.D. Kellman of Brooklyn as Spider and Emily Cara Portune of Jersey City as Fly. Rounding out the cast are Becky Nitka of Long Valley as Ant; Katelyn Spinosa of Bayonne as Butterfly and Katie Horn of Manhattan as Mrs. McBee. The Growing Stage is committed to creating and presenting professional theatre for young people and their families. Housed in the historic Palace Theater on Route 183 in Netcong, the organization is currently celebrating its 30th season. The company is also showcasing its restoration of their front façade which has recently undergone major changes in keeping with its recognition of being on the National, State and County Registers of Historic Places.

Tickets for DIARY OF A WORM, A SPIDER AND A FLY are $18 for adults, $14 for children and seniors, with group rates available. School Matinee performances are also available throughout the week. Tickets can be purchased by calling the TGS Box Office at (973) 347-4946 or logging onto their website at www.growingstage.com.
