Calling local artists! The Gallery at Mercer County Community College invites individuals 18 or older who live, work, or attend school in Mercer County, N.J., to submit their artwork to be considered for "Mercer County Artists 2011," a juried exhibition. Artists may enter up to two original works in any media except photography. (The county hosts a separate Mercer County photography exhibit).

Jurying will take place on Saturday, Feb. 26 at the MCCC Gallery. Artwork should be dropped off between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Work not accepted for the exhibit must be picked up that afternoon between 3:30 and 5 p.m. The Gallery is located on the second floor of MCCC's Communications Building on the West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

An array of purchase and merit prizes will be awarded, among them the Utrecht Art Supplies Best in Show prize and the Ninth AnnuAl West Windsor Arts Council Prize for outstanding work by a West Windsor artist. Awards will be announced during the show's Opening Reception, which will be held on Wednesday, March 9 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The show will be on display through April 7. Artwork that receives Purchase Awards from the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission will become part of the county's permanent art collection.

A prospectus may be downloaded from the Gallery website at www.mccc.edu/gallery. For a hard copy of the prospectus, artists should email their name and full mailing address to gallery@mccc.edu.

The exhibition is co-sponsored by and supported through a grant from the Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission, with funding from the New Jersey State Council of the Arts/Department of State, a partner of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Directions and a campus map can be found at www.mccc.edu.
