George Street Playhouse to Host A Conversation with Tyne Daly, 2/25

Actress Tyne Daly returns to the George Street Playhouse stage for a one-night-only event Monday, February 25. The event, first in a planned series of "Conversations with..." will feature the award-winning actress in a one-on-one conversation with GSP Artistic Director David Saint. In addition to conversing with Mr. Saint, Ms. Daly will also take questions from the audience as well. All proceeds of the event will go toward the support of George Street Playhouse's mainstage and educational programming. Tickets for the benefit evening start at $60; $100 premium tickets include premium seats and admission to a VIP post-performance reception with Ms. Daly following.

"We are incredibly grateful to Tyne for taking time out of her busy schedule," said Mr. Saint. "Not only has she had an amazing career, she has lived a remarkable life, and I can't wait to speak with her about both."

Tyne Daly originated the role of Judy Steinberg in the world premiere production of It Shoulda Been You at George Street Playhouse, and recently celebrated her 50th year as a member in good standing of AEA. Under the leadership of Artistic Director David Saint, George Street Playhouse has become a nationally recognized theatre, presenting an acclaimed mainstage season while providing an artistic home for established and emerging theatre artists. Founded in 1974, The Playhouse has been well represented by numerous productions both on and off-Broadway - recent productions include the Outer Critics' Circle Best Musical Award-winner The Toxic Avenger, the Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk and Drama League nominated production of The Spitfire Grill and the Broadway hit and Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning play Proof by David Auburn, which was developed at GSP during the 1999 Next Stage Series of new plays. George Street Playhouse programming is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, and by its lead season sponsor Johnson & Johnson.
