The triumph of a young girl who loses everything but her kindness and imagination is celebrated in ArtsPower's hit holiday musical "A Little Princess Christmas," coming to Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 10. Shows will be presented at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

"A Little Princess Christmas" tells the story of spirited 7-year-old Sara Crewe, who must enroll at a girls boarding school in New York when her father enlists in World War I. Starting her time there quite happily, Sara's status quickly drops from riches to rags when her father goes missing. She is sent to the attic to live with the servant girl, Becky, where she must now work for her room and board.

Unwavering in her kindness and still hopeful she will see her father again, Sara transforms the attic into an imaginary palace through her storytelling, convincing her friend Becky that anyone who is loved is royalty.

Based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's classic novel, a rich musical score of five original songs and authentic period costumes adds to this heartwarming holiday tale for families of all ages to enjoy.

Founded in 1985 by identical twins Mark and Gary Blackman, ArtsPower is based in Montclair, N.J., and is the second largest company in the nation to provide professional Equity theater for young and family audiences.

Tickets are $10 for all ages and may be purchased online at www.kelseytheatre.net or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and free parking is available next to the theater.
